Management Reporting
Today's IT service desk is accountable to the business as well as the board and reporting is an essential element of its success.
Reports can be generated from your Sunrise solution in a number of ways, be it from within the application or by using a range of reporting tools such as Crystal Reports.
Background
The management reporting service has been designed to demonstrate to clients what can be achieved using filters, monitor options if applicable, and Crystal Reports. As a result of this consultancy day, the client should have a far clearer understanding of what can be achieved and which option or combination of options best serves their needs. A detailed implementation plan can then be agreed, as appropriate.
This day is not intended to be used to write specific reports for the client, or for training in the use of Crystal Reports. Further consultancy days will be required to help write any of the reports identified during the day.
In short, this service will help Sunrise customers derive maximum business benefit from their investment by turning data into meaningful information.
Service Overview
A Sunrise Consultant will visit the client and explain how various reports can be produced using filters, the monitor (Sunrise Enterprise) and Crystal Reports. At the end of a management reporting service day, the consultant will review with the client what has been achieved and agree any further actions.
Possible further actions can include training or additional consultancy days. Similarly, there may be no requirement for additional work by Sunrise if the client is confident that they can produce the reports they require.
The client should be prepared to provide an overview of their daily and weekly operational and reporting requirements. Ideally, the client should have examples of any existing reports.

Crystal reports is a shrink-wrapped product that allows reports to be written against a number of different databases. Due to the complexity of the product the consultant's aim is not to train the client in the full functionality of the product but to provide an overview of the product and demonstrate the type of report that can be produced. |

| Identify client reporting requirements |
Once the client has seen the standard reports that are available to them through the product, they may decide that they require additional reports. The client may wish to produce these reports themselves or use Sunrise consultants to produce the reports for them. If the client chooses to use Sunrise to produce the reports, the consultant will discuss the exact requirements with the client. (Refer to data sheet on Report Writing Service) |
The consultant, in conjunction with the client, will produce a complete specification of all the reports that the client requires. This will include "cosmetic" layout in addition to any technical requirements. The consultant will document this and estimate the time required to produce the reports. This will be made available to the relevant account manager or project manager to produce a quote for writing the reports. |
